Satellite Hotel, Kisaasi

In September 2022, AFFCAD Uganda, in partnership with Youth in Action supported by Arigatou International, Nairobi, held a capacity building workshop for young leaders. The participants discussed social cohesion and the role of young people in peacebuilding with the aim of building the capacity of young leaders as ambassadors of peace within their communities.

The workshop took place at Sate-light Hotel in Kisaasi and was attended by 20 youth leaders. This group included representatives from political, religious, student and youth-led civil society organisations. The event was spearheaded by Youth in Action and saw Namatovu Doris Isabel, Oluka James, Nakato Joan and Bukenya Shadrach cover topics ranging from social cohesion to conflict management and resolution, meditation and the role of young people in peacebuilding.

Speaking after the event, Asha Wandulu said:

‘I am glad to have been part of this training. I will be cascading the knowledge to my fellow young Christian leaders as well as play my role in promoting peace in my community.’

None of this would have been possible without the support of our generous donors. If you would like to help young people like these become financially self-sufficient, you can donate here.
