Over the course of two days in August 2022, the AFFCAD Uganda Board of Directors and the Senior Management Committee met with a consultant, Dr Simon Nantamu, to review the organisation’s 2021-2025 Strategic Plan.

During the review, AFFCAD Uganda’s Vision was revised to ‘Sustainable and dignified lives for young people in urban communities in Uganda’ and its Mission was amended to ‘To provide quality education and skills to young people in vulnerable urban communities in Uganda’.

Attendees also took the decision to update AFFCAD Uganda’s values to ‘Service beyond self, integrity, teamwork and creativity’ and to reduce the organisation’s strategic program areas to economic empowerment, education and health with peacebuilding and organisational strengthening being crosscutting.

The aim of these changes is to strengthen AFFCAD’s work within the communities that it serves.

‘A strategic plan review helps us know whether we are achieving the targets that we set out to achieve as its the guiding document that guides our work. Periodic checks on its implementation enables us plan better for the organisation.’ – Prudence Atukwatse, AFFCAD Executive Director
